Prison Island

Hope aboard a small motorised boat on the shores of Stone Town and set sail for the historic Prison Island named after the prison built to condemn Zanzibari citizen to the isolations of the island. The Island is now home to the infamous prison ruins and tortoise sanctuary, famous for its giant tortoises.

Observe these intriguing creatures leisurely shuffling through the trees, whilst adventurous children can enjoy a slow ride on their powerful backs. In addition to the tortoise viewing, your four hours visit to the island gives you plenty of time to explore one of the hiking trails, snorkeling search of colorful tropical fish through the reef or soak up some sun on powder white beah.
